21.09.2008The IESF Annual General Meeting in Hong Kong was preceded on 10th September by a client conference entitled Doing Business in Emerging Markets. The event was devoted to investment opportunities in BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China). An enormous supply of resources paramount to world’s economies and high economic growth rates in these countries attract multi-billion investments. Investment and other business opportunities in BRIC were explored in their respective reports by Michael Bogdanov (Russia), Vivek Ahuja (India), Silvana Case (Brazil), Jaap Hoekstra (Romania), and Andrew Walker (Bulgaria).

Michael Bogdanov, CONSORT’s Chairman of the Board and IESF Country Manager for Russia/CIS, reported on major trends in the current economic situation in Russia, particularities of investing and doing business in Russia, and ways of achieving maximum business results.
The BRIC Conference, run in conjunction with the American Chamber of Commerce on their premises in Hong Kong, was attended by about a hundred eminent business representatives and received extensive coverage in international and local media.
